3.

MEET other avid recyclers

Sometimes it can feel like you’re the only one making that extra effort to recycle. By joining our private Facebook group, you’ll find many others just like you that care about cleaning up our planet and making it a better place to live.

4.

TEACH your kids to recycle

All good habits start early. As you help your children develop lifelong behaviors at home, teach them to recycle their juice boxes and other cartons! If they can’t recycle their milk cartons at school, you can help change that too. Talk to your kids’ school administration about the possibility to recycle the cartons consumed in the school’s cafeteria. The presentation below can help them understand what’s involved

School personnel

1.

BRING Carton Recycling to YOUR SCHOOL

Adding milk and juice carton recycling to your school’s recycling program encourages students to take up good recycling practices early in life, and bring them home to their families.

BY RECYCLING CARTONS AT YOUR COMMUNITY’S SCHOOLS, YOU WILL:

  • Increase the potential to save money on disposal costs
  • Reduce cafeteria waste and stay ahead of the curve on sustainability
  • Help students develop environmentally-friendly habits
  • Reinforce the connection with recycling at home by recycling at school

Local government

1.

BRING Carton Recycling to YOUR COMMUNITY

Cartons are now as common as cans or bottles in the grocery store, so they should be as easy to recycle too. By adding cartons to your curbside program, you not only help to divert more waste from landfills, you also create another source of revenue on the sale of recyclables for your community. The addition of cartons also provides the opportunity to reinvigorate your municipality’s recycling efforts.

Think of the Carton Council as a trusted partner in helping you bring carton recycling to your community.

The Carton Council can offer:

  • Technical assistance to add carton recycling to your local program
  • Free communications toolkits and assistance with carton recycling education and promotion
  • An overview of the steps you will need to take to bring carton recycling to your residents or staff

Adding cartons to your list of accepted recycling materials will help increase diversion rates and create another source of revenue for your facility. While cartons are now as common as cans or bottles in the grocery store and are in high-demand from both domestic and international mills, your recovery facility is key to bringing carton recycling to your area.
