Summer Fun
Summer is in full swing! Pool parties, barbecues and camping trips are aplenty, and families can spend more time together than they can during most of the year. This is a great chance for parents to pass on life lessons that will stay with kids for a lifetime: how to pitch a tent, the need for sunscreen, and of course, the importance of recycling cartons.
The activities below will keep your kids’ summer fun going, while also opening the opportunity to discuss how to protect our planet:
Kids will love doing this fun word search. To throw in a challenge – once they’ve completed the word search, ask them to identify which words they found that are also products that come in a carton (and can therefore be recycled)! Print the word search for them to complete here.
Print out this image of recyclables for your child to color in to their heart’s content. Make sure they know which of the recyclables is a carton!
Oh no, this carton has lost its way! Print this maze here and ask your kids to help the carton get to the recycling center. Which paper product did the carton become?
Did your kids solve the puzzles? Have you found other fun ways to incorporate carton recycling into your summer plans? Tell us about it on Twitter or Facebook!
